Main benefits of studies at BIO FEL

  1. Biomedical engineering is a perspective field. The usage of electronics is usual today even during disease diagnosis or treatment and further development will take place in the future.
  2. There is a great demand on job market for specialists in medical technologies and bioinformatics.
  3. We teach students to understand doctors, find resources, use modern technologies for own benefit and how to come up with a technical solution and put it to use, i.e. to profesionally solve complex problems.
  4. We support individuality of each student as well as teamwork. We develop not only the hard skills but soft skills too.
  5. We cooperate closely with state-of-the-art medical workplaces, research and technological teams with an aim of praxis in biomedical environment.

Why BIO at CTU FEE?

The Medical electronics and bioinformatics study programme at FEE CTU spans over both the Bachelor’s and Master’s. However, only the Master’s programme is taught in English as well as Czech, Bachelor’s is Czech only.

During the Bachelor’s phase we explain e.g. how modern medical apparati work or how a computer can ease a doctor’s work with determining the diagnosis. Student gains a wide theoretical mathematics-physics foundations as well as knowledge from the areas of electrical engineering, electronics, informatics and computer sciences complemented by biomedical basics and medical applications.
A detailed study composition may be seen in the Bachelor’s phase study plan.

In the following Master’s phase we develop both knowledge and pratical skills in one of the four specializations Image processing, Signal processing, Bioinformatics (Czech) and Medical Instrumentation (Czech). The students who graduate from the Medical electronics and bioinformatics study programme should be able to solve engineering problems related to design and development of modern electronic devices and software applications in medicine and biology and they do not get lost in rapidly developing area of medical technologies and biotechnologies.
Detailed study composition differs based on specialization – Image processing, Signal processing, Bioinformatics (Czech) and Medical Instrumentation (Czech).
